A broad range of tools are used in the process of rivet installation. This includes hand tools such as rivet cutters, bucking bars, hand riveters, countersinks, and dimpling tools, and power tools such as pneumatic rivet guns, rivet squeezers, and microshavers. In this blog, we will discuss each type of tool and its basics functions.

The aircraft gas turbine engine has highly advanced our capabilities of flight, allowing for aircraft to conduct powerful compression and combustion to achieve high altitude flight at great speeds. As the compression of air is crucial for efficient flight operations, the compressor section of the engine assembly is specifically designed to handle high amounts of intake air and increase its pressure. With the compressor, air can be pressurized to benefit fuel ignition, cabin pressurization, de-icing, cabin heating and cooling, and many other processes that benefit flight operations. Due to the various roles undertaken by the compressor, it is paramount that such assemblies are understood and well-maintained to sustain their efficient operations.

A critical aspect of regular turbofan or turboprop engine maintenance is the hot engine inspection. A hot section inspection (HSI) refers to the examination of the condition of many key engine parts, such as the turbine blades, combustion chamber, stators, vane rings, compressor turbine disk, and shroud segments. In this blog, we will further discuss what HSIs are, and why they are so important.

Aircraft fasteners serve as one of the most important components of aircraft construction, allowing for parts to be fixed together through mechanical means. In general, various types of aviation hardware provide their unique roles that benefit assemblies, and commonly used components include nuts, screws, bolts, and more. One type of aviation hardware type that is often overlooked for its importance is the washer, that of which may be paired with threaded fasteners and other components to provide various benefits.

An auxiliary power unit (APU) is a small turbine engine installed near the rear of the fuselage and serves as an additional energy source in starting one of the main engines on an airliner or business jet. Though a number of airports in the United States restrict the operation of APUs (especially at night) due to the noise they produce, the majority of an APUs usage is on the ground, before take-off and after landing. In addition to its starting capabilities, APUs are equipped with an extra electrical generator that creates enough power to operate onboard lighting, galley electrics and cockpit avionics.

An aircraft engine is a remarkably complex piece of machinery, with hundreds of moving parts that operate outside of the perception of the pilot’s senses. Most mechanical issues in an engine begin affecting the aircraft before they can be seen, heard, or felt. Fortunately, modern technological innovations have led to the creation of aircraft engine monitoring systems, arrays of sensors and digital computers that are designed to help the pilot gauge the health and status of their aircraft. These systems can determine what kinds of maintenance might be required for an aircraft’s engine, or help them determine if an engine is fit for operations. While typically used on commercial aircraft, they are popular for personal aircraft as well.

The AeroVue is the latest technology that will allow for standard planes to be equipped with cockpit control panels of those of a business jet. Originating in the year 2014 the product has begun to be intertwined with the Beechcraft King Air B200. The aircraft has been fortunate enough to have received the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) which is granted to aircraft that have been modified and completed from its original state.

The Sj30i engine has finally been able to be adopted and completed to finally be placed on an aircraft. An Original model for the Sino Swearingen-design (SJ30) was purchased by the Syberjet by the originators Emivest Aerospace Corp. The purchase was done due to bankruptcy that Emivest had to experience and the potential that it showed. Fortunately for SyberJet, Honeywell Inc noticed the capability that the SJ30 had and teamed up to create the SyberVision. The SyberVision is an original cockpit to be used with the SJ30i model. In later time, the partnership wishes to implement the Sybervision into the next versions of the SJ30 such as SJ030X model.
