Airbus A320neo Aircraft Reaches Last Step of Production

The Airbus A320neo aircraft has finally reached the last step of production and had its Pratt & Whitney Pure Power PW1100-JM engines installed. LATAM Airlines Brazil is the first customer and will be the first recipient of the aircraft in South America. This makes the carrier the first of its type in operation in Latin America. All that is left before the aircraft undergoes ground and flight testing is cabin furnishings.

The A320neo aircraft will showcase the LATAM Airlines Group livery in coral and indigo - The merger is the resulting corporation from LAN Airlines and TAM Airlines. The group was the first to have the Airbus A350-900 as part of its fleet.  It is now also one of the largest A320 operators in the western hemisphere. Currently, 134 aircrafts from the A320 family operate as part of the airline. The carriers include new innovative engines and Sharklet wing tip devices that help cut down fuel costs by 15% from initial usage.

Since the A320neo Family launched in 2010, the aircrafts have become the best-selling line currently in production. The sleek and comfortable single-aisle lines have now received more than 4,500 orders, and compromise 60% of the market.

At this time, nine of the 4,500 320neo aircrafts have been distributed to 3 of the total 83 customers. Though the completion of all orders has a long way to go, LATAM Airlines Group has only a short wait left.
